The short version: we’re comfortable with technology and got into this for plain, practical household reasons. Not because the world is ending — because the power goes out, storms roll through, and the water main breaks, and it’s a lot less stressful when you’ve thought it through ahead of time. That’s the whole idea here: approach this calmly, do a few useful things, and get on with your life.
Why this site exists
Most prepping content falls into one of two traps. It’s either built to scare you — countdowns, worst-case scenarios, that constant low hum of dread — or it’s buried in jargon meant for people that treat this as a hobby.
Neither one helps the household that just wants to know what to do when the lights go out for three days. So we wrote the site we wished existed: calm, specific, and aimed at the everyday household navigating real-world disruptions. We’ll validate that it’s stressful, then hand you something useful to actually do.
