How the system works

The GO Anywhere is two things that work together: a folding stand with a seat, and the Original WAG Bag kit. You unfold the legs until each one locks, drop a waste bag into the frame, and go. The bag is pre-loaded with Cleanwaste's Poo Powder, which the company describes as a proprietary blend built on a NASA-developed super-absorbent plus a deodorizing agent and a decay catalyst. When you're done, the powder gels the liquid so nothing sloshes, you seal the bag in the included zip-close outer bag, and Cleanwaste says it's safe to put in normal household trash. Each kit also includes toilet paper and a hand wipe, so the whole loop is covered out of the box.

Why it folds matters more than what it weighs

The real advantage over a classic 5-gallon bucket toilet isn't weight. Be clear on this: the Cleanwaste stand is actually heavier, around 7 pounds by most retailer listings, though Cleanwaste's own page also shows 9. A Reliance Luggable Loo bucket is under 3 pounds. So this is not the lighter option. The advantage is that the Cleanwaste stand folds flat to about briefcase size, and a bucket can't collapse. That's the difference between something you can slide behind a closet shelf or into an evacuation bag, and something that takes up a full bucket's worth of space no matter what. For a household short on storage, or one that wants a toilet ready to grab and go, folding flat is the edge.

The two capacities, kept separate

People mix these up, so we won't. There are two different numbers here. One is the stand's user-weight capacity: Cleanwaste rates the frame to support up to 500 pounds. That's structural, and it's a meaningful inclusivity difference over a typical bucket toilet rated around 220. The other is the waste bag's capacity: Cleanwaste says each WAG bag gels up to about 32 ounces of waste, which works out to roughly 3 to 4 uses per bag. That one's a consumable. When a bag's used up, you seal it and start a fresh one. Don't confuse the 500-pound stand rating with how much a single bag holds.

Comfort is a wash, honestly

We're not going to sell you on the seat. Owner and tester reports on comfort are mixed across both this and the bucket-style options, and there's no clear winner. An independent tester measured the GO Anywhere seat at about 14.25 inches, slightly lower than a home toilet, and called it not much different from a standard toilet at home. The budget bucket alternative actually sits a bit taller, around 15 inches, which one independent reviewer praised for taller, older, or heavier users. So if seat height is your deciding factor, that one leans the other way. We're recommending the Cleanwaste on portability, weight capacity, and the complete kit, not on comfort.

Disposal and hand hygiene

This is the part to get right, because it's the health part. Cleanwaste's gelling agent is meant to deodorize and start breaking down the waste, and the company says the sealed bag can go in regular trash. Follow that: seal the inner bag, seal it inside the zip-close outer bag, and put it in your normal household garbage, not down a drain. Then use the included hand wipe, and wash with soap and water after if you can. One tester reported no odor issue even after carrying a used bag for 60 miles, which is a good sign, but treat every used bag as biohazard until it's fully sealed. Keep the kit's hand wipes stocked, and keep hand sanitizer or a wash station right next to the toilet. The system only protects your household if the hygiene step happens every single time.

Honest limits

Two things to know going in. First, independent reviewers consistently call the legs stiff and fiddly to fold back down after use, one described it as a pain to re-fold. It's an annoyance, not a breakage. Second, odor is reduced, not erased. The gelling powder helps, but reviewers describe it as helping a little, not eliminating smell. Plan to keep the sealed bags outside your living space and empty the trash promptly.
