The DELTA 3 Classic is EcoFlow's newer take on the 1-kilowatt-hour power station — the generation after the Delta 2 this sits next to. Same ballpark size and job: keep a fridge, phones, lights, and a CPAP going through an outage. What's new is under the hood — automotive-grade full-tab LFP cells, a faster wall charge (EcoFlow rates 0–80% in about 45 minutes), and a sub-10-millisecond UPS switchover EcoFlow markets for keeping a desktop alive when the grid blinks. It's a strong value if you want the current-generation cells and don't need the extra outlets or bigger battery of the Plus and Max. We researched this one — specs from EcoFlow, plus an independent hands-on from The Solar Lab — rather than testing it ourselves; where EcoFlow's numbers and the tester's differ, we say so.

What owners report
Not enough owner history yet — here's what we can and can't say. The DELTA 3 Classic went on sale around March 2026, so there isn't yet a durable record of how it holds up over years of real ownership — the kind of repeated, attributed owner-reported failure pattern we build this section from. We won't pretend one exists, and we won't tell you it's trouble-free either; a few months on the market isn't long enough to claim it either way.
What we do have is early hands-on signal. The Solar Lab's multi-day hands-on with the Classic found it quiet and well-built, and measured about 83% inverter efficiency and roughly 17 watts of idle draw — meaning a little energy drains just from leaving it switched on, worth a thought if you keep it in standby. The clearest early trade-off is a design choice, not a fault: EcoFlow markets "Smart Generator compatibility," but The Solar Lab points out that on this unit it only means charging off a generator's AC outlet — no generator comms or auto-start. We'll update this section with real owner-reported patterns once the unit has been in enough hands, for long enough, to show them.
